John Rewind was born in Kansas City, Missouri and relocated to San Francisco, California in 1967 during The Summer of Love.  In K.C. he was in numerous bands such as The Knights, The Emeralds, and the Zoo. After moving to California, he was the lead guitarist for MARBLE FARM until he met Joe Crane from Conroe,Texas. Joe had played bass for Johnny and Edgar Winter while in high school in Beaumont, Texas. John and Joe's mutual passion for the Blues and legendary R&B songs led them to form the HOODOO RHYTHM DEVILS in the early '70's. With an old college friend Glenn Walters added on vocals and drums, The Hoodoos went on to do many national tours with The Doobie Bros, Steely Dan, Savoy Brown, Mott the Hoople, and Chuck Berry. They had some of their songs covered by Johnny Winter, The Chambers Bros, Commander Cody, and Patti LaBelle. They backed up the Pointer Sisters on "Wang Dang Doodle" on the Pointer's first album, and even were the session band for a Link Wray album. After Joe Crane passed away, John went on to write songs that were recorded by Joe Louis Walker, Blue Cheer, and Hush, and to produce and record numerous cds by Davey Pattison, Holly Stanton, The Dynatones, The Beautiful Losers, Bobby Black, Mark Bryson, Bruce Stephens, Thumb Club,  Karmakazees,  Ukebox (Steven Strauss), The Luddites,  Digital Citizen,  Lezlee Livrano, and lately, Georgia Whiting, many of which are available on CD BABY , iTunes, etc... John is currently finishing his second solo instrumental CD called "Burst", which will be released in the Summer of 2021.
